12th November:
We left the gorgeous Lauterbrunnen and took the train to Interlaken, with a few hours to kill there before our next connection. We had lunch at a Chinese restaurant, and killed some time walking around the town near the station, grabbed coffee & pastries at a cafe nearby, then boarded our train onwards to the high speed connection to Paris. 5 hours later we arrived at Gare De Nord station, and took a cab to the apartment we had rented via AirBnB in Saint-Germain-des-Pres. It was a very cosy little apartment up a lot of stairs, but in an excellent location, and was all that we needed! (And a good price for that part of town!)
I had this romantic idea of what Paris would be like and was pretty sure it would be my favourite place of our trip. Surprisingly it wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I had a great time. I think the fact that we missed out on seats on the train to Loire Valley (as we had Eurail passes and they had sold all allocated seats for our day) contribute to that, as I really wanted to see castles! I was disappointed ..but a reason to go back and see the countryside and south of France!
13th November
This day was spent seeing the sights. In the morning we went to Notre Dame, which I loved. We bought a ticket to climb to the top and hang out with the Gargoyles and see the cityscape of Paris.

Afterwards we headed to La Sainte-Chapelle and then the Musee d’Orsay, before making our way to see the Arc de Triomphe and do some shopping at Champs-Elysees (mostly at Sephora and Guerlain).
The next day, 14th November, we visited one of my favourite parts of our Paris Trip  Père Lachaise Cemetery . So beautiful at that time of year with the autumn leaves.

After this we went to the Louvre, which was exhausting! So much to see. I can safely say I do not need to ever see any classic art again. 😉

15 November
We did DISNEYLAND! So much fun.
16 November
Today we visited the Galerie de paléontologie et d’anatomie comparée, in the Jardin Des Plants, an amazing animal skeleton museum. We then went to the Eiffel Tower, but only went half the way up and then on an adventure to find an awesome absinthe shop where we purchased a beautiful bottle and goblet set.
17th November
We checked into our “luxury” part of the trip where we spent a few nights at the Secret de Paris, visited Montemarte and that night went to the famous Crazy Horse show.
18 November
Our last day – we visted Montmarte again and had lunch with a friend from Sydney who was also in Paris and did some last minute shopping at the Champ Elyeses.
